This course is essential for anyone who wants to explore\u00a0<strong>caves and obstructed underwater environments<\/strong>, always within the limits of light zones and without losing sight of an exit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The course can be conducted using&nbsp;<strong>air or Nitrox mixtures<\/strong>&nbsp;(Nitrox only for divers holding an&nbsp;<strong>IANTD EANx Diver certification<\/strong>&nbsp;or equivalent). Divers certified as&nbsp;<strong>Recreational Trimix Divers<\/strong>&nbsp;may also use hyperoxic blends when provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Course Overview<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>IANTD Cavern Diver course<\/strong>&nbsp;develops essential skills for diving in&nbsp;<strong>basic overhead environments<\/strong>&nbsp;where natural light from the exit is still visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">You will learn how to:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dive in\u00a0<strong>obstructed environments<\/strong>\u00a0with care and precision<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop\u00a0<strong>self-control, buoyancy, and finning techniques<\/strong>\u00a0to avoid disturbing sediments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the\u00a0<strong>Ariadne\u2019s thread (guideline)<\/strong>\u00a0to ensure safe orientation and avoid losing the way to the exit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage\u00a0<strong>stress and awareness<\/strong>\u00a0in confined spaces<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Through a structured and progressive learning approach, you will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to dive in caverns and overhead environments&nbsp;<strong>within the limits of your training and always in full safety<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the&nbsp;<strong>IANTD Cavern Diver certification<\/strong>, issued by the&nbsp;<strong>International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers (IANTD)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Grotta della Colombara\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AmuqOqeIaPQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Course Prerequisites<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To enrol in the&nbsp;<strong>IANTD Cavern Diver course<\/strong>, you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hold an\u00a0<strong>IANTD Advanced Open Water Diver certification<\/strong>\u00a0or an equivalent qualification from a recognised agency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>IANTD EANx Diver certification<\/strong>\u00a0or equivalent is\u00a0<strong>highly recommended<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have at least\u00a0<strong>20 logged dives<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be at least\u00a0<strong>15 years old<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0<strong>parental or tutor authorisation<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Divers already certified with a\u00a0<strong>technical or Sidemount certification<\/strong>\u00a0may be certified directly as\u00a0<strong>IANTD Advanced Cavern Diver (ADV CAVERN)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Course Materials<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During the course, the use of official IANTD materials is&nbsp;<strong>mandatory<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>IANTD Cavern Diver manual<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>IANTD Overhead Environment Diver manual<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All dives must be&nbsp;<strong>properly logged and signed<\/strong>&nbsp;by the instructor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Course Duration and Structure<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Theory Lessons<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>As outlined in the IANTD manual<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Confined Water Training<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At least\u00a0<strong>one confined water session<\/strong>\u00a0(in an open and unobstructed environment,\u00a0<strong>not in a cave<\/strong>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maximum depth:\u00a0<strong>10 metres<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Open Water Training Dives<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Minimum 100 minutes of bottom time<\/strong>, completed over at least\u00a0<strong>two (2) cavern dives<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maximum depth:\u00a0<strong>40 metres<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>no decompression<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All training is focused on\u00a0<strong>developing real, practical skills<\/strong>\u00a0to ensure safety and confidence when diving in overhead environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Get Certified \u2014 Learn Cavern Diving Safely<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information or to enrol in the\u00a0IANTD Cavern Diver course <strong>contact us at<\/strong>:\u00a0cecilia@dgportofino.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Explore safely.
