Advanced Training for Deep and Decompression Diving<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The IANTD Technical Diver course<\/strong> is designed to provide divers with the knowledge and skills needed to conduct deep, technical dives using decompression mixtures<\/strong> of up to 100% oxygen<\/strong>. This course allows dives to a maximum depth of 48 metres using air<\/strong>, and up to 51 metres using optimal Nitrox mixes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the course is taken together with the IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver course<\/strong>, or if the diver is already certified as an IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver<\/strong>, the maximum depth can be extended to 60 metres<\/strong>, using a normoxic trimix mixture (20% O\u2082 and 30% He)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This program requires\u00a0complete mastery of theoretical knowledge, diving procedures, and psychomotor skills<\/strong> essential for safely conducting advanced technical dives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Course Overview<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The IANTD Technical Diver course<\/strong> represents a significant achievement in a diver\u2019s training \u2014 comparable to a degree in diving education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It focuses on three critical areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Theoretical knowledge<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Essential understanding of advanced decompression diving<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • In-water training<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Practical development of technical diving skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Proper equipment use<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Configuration, handling, and management of technical gear<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The course is divided into two levels<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. Advanced Deep Air Diver<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Mandatory foundation to access the Technical Diver level<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Technical Diver<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Advanced training for deep, decompression dives<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Note: The\u00a0IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver course<\/strong>\u00a0may be taken before or in conjunction with the Technical Diver course, using the knowledge acquired in the\u00a0IANTD Advanced EANx Diver course<\/strong>, or as part of the training in normoxic gas usage.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Prerequisites for the Course<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      To enrol in the IANTD Technical Diver course<\/strong>, you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
      • Hold a\u00a0IANTD Advanced EANx Diver or Normoxic Trimix Diver certification<\/strong>, or an equivalent certification (access to technical courses from other agencies is subject to a\u00a0verification exam and written authorisation<\/strong>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Hold\u00a0IANTD Rescue Diver<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0IANTD MFA \/ Oxygen Provider<\/strong>\u00a0certifications, or recognised equivalents<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Have\u00a0logged at least 100 dives<\/strong>, of which\u00a030 dives must be deeper than 30 metres<\/strong>, using\u00a0Nitrox mixtures and Advanced EANx Diver configuration<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Be\u00a0at least 18 years old<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Course Materials<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        The course requires the IANTD Technical Diver Manual<\/strong>, included in the official IANTD educational kit<\/strong>, which must be obtained and read before starting the course<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Each chapter must be read before attending the related theory lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Course Duration and Structure<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        Theory Lessons<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \n
        • A total of\u00a0eleven (11) theory sessions<\/strong>, covering all key topics for advanced technical diving<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Confined Water Session<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \n
          • At least\u00a0one confined water session<\/strong>\u00a0to refine technical diving skills and practice essential exercises<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            Open Water Training Dives<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              \n
            • Minimum of\u00a0two realistic training dives<\/strong>\u00a0to a maximum depth of\u00a051 metres using the best Nitrox mix<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • If combined with\u00a0IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver course<\/strong>, or if already certified as such, dives can reach up to\u00a060 metres<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

              Note<\/strong>: The\u00a0Advanced Deep Air Diver level<\/strong>\u00a0must be successfully completed before progressing to the full Technical Diver level (according to IANTD standards).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
