Known for its unique underwater topography, this site features <strong>massive overlapping boulders, vibrant red coral walls, and a hidden freshwater spring<\/strong> that creates the rare halocline phenomenon\u2014making it a rewarding experience for both beginner and advanced divers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"615\" data-end=\"991\">The site is accessed via boat, with a mooring buoy positioned conveniently close to the rocky wall. Raviolo Rock offers <strong>two well-marked dive routes<\/strong>, reaching depths of 18 and 40 metres, making it ideal for divers of varying levels. With little to no current and excellent visibility, it\u2019s a must-dive location when exploring the area\u2019s rich marine life and geological wonders.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"280\" data-end=\"312\">\ud83d\udd34 <strong data-start=\"283\" data-end=\"312\">RED ROUTE (down to -40 m)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"314\" data-end=\"325\"><strong data-start=\"314\" data-end=\"325\">DESCENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"327\" data-end=\"503\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"327\" data-end=\"503\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"329\" data-end=\"503\">Once we\u2019ve checked our gear with a pre-dive check, we\u2019ll be ready to descend. The buoy at Raviolo Rock is <strong>very close to the promontory<\/strong>. We\u2019ll reach the anchor block at<strong> -17 m<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"505\" data-end=\"517\"><strong data-start=\"505\" data-end=\"517\">OUTBOUND<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"519\" data-end=\"1538\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"519\" data-end=\"602\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"521\" data-end=\"602\">We\u2019ll follow the plateau sloping towards the open sea in a SOUTHERLY direction.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"603\" data-end=\"674\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"605\" data-end=\"674\">Large <strong>groupers<\/strong> appear from behind the rocks, observing our passage.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"675\" data-end=\"788\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"677\" data-end=\"788\">At <strong>-29 m<\/strong>, massive boulders stacked on top of each other form <strong>a spectacular passageway, with an exit at -36 m<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"789\" data-end=\"861\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"791\" data-end=\"861\">The ceiling is covered in <em data-start=\"817\" data-end=\"839\">Leptopsammia pruvoti<\/em> (<strong>yellow cup coral<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"862\" data-end=\"940\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"864\" data-end=\"940\">Upon exiting, we\u2019ll turn left and follow the wall, which is rich in coral.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"941\" data-end=\"1136\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"943\" data-end=\"1136\">At around<strong> -26 m<\/strong> on the wall, to our left, <strong>a small cave<\/strong> opens up, several metres deep. It\u2019s safe to enter, and we can use our torches to look for <strong>conger eels, forkbeards, and slipper lobsters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1137\" data-end=\"1275\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1139\" data-end=\"1275\">We\u2019ll continue ascending towards the EAST until we reach a cone-shaped boulder at<strong> -23 m<\/strong>, which leads us to the edge of the wall ahead.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1276\" data-end=\"1538\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1278\" data-end=\"1538\">From there, we\u2019ll continue ascending towards the promontory in a NORTH-EASTERLY direction until we spot <strong>a small cave at -6 m<\/strong>, where a <strong>freshwater spring<\/strong> emerges. Inside, we can observe the <strong data-start=\"1466\" data-end=\"1479\">halocline<\/strong> phenomenon, created by the mixing of fresh and salt water.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1540\" data-end=\"1550\"><strong data-start=\"1540\" data-end=\"1550\">RETURN<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1552\" data-end=\"1759\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1552\" data-end=\"1663\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1554\" data-end=\"1663\">From here, we\u2019ll begin the return journey with the wall on our right, following the edge of the promontory.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1664\" data-end=\"1759\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1666\" data-end=\"1759\">The chain of the mooring buoy is easy to locate due to its close proximity to the rocky wall.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1761\" data-end=\"1771\"><strong data-start=\"1761\" data-end=\"1771\">ASCENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1773\" data-end=\"1874\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1773\" data-end=\"1874\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1775\" data-end=\"1874\">We\u2019ll carry out our <strong>3-minute safety stop at -5 m<\/strong>, either along the wall or near the secondary buoy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"1876\" data-end=\"1910\">\ud83d\udfe2 <strong data-start=\"1879\" data-end=\"1910\">GREEN ROUTE (down to -18 m)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1912\" data-end=\"1923\"><strong data-start=\"1912\" data-end=\"1923\">DESCENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1925\" data-end=\"2023\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1925\" data-end=\"2023\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1927\" data-end=\"2023\">After the pre-dive check, we\u2019ll descend near the chain until we reach the anchor block at <strong>-17 m<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2025\" data-end=\"2037\"><strong data-start=\"2025\" data-end=\"2037\">OUTBOUND<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2039\" data-end=\"2513\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2039\" data-end=\"2115\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2041\" data-end=\"2115\">We\u2019ll start finning among the many boulders scattered along the plateau.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2116\" data-end=\"2286\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2118\" data-end=\"2286\">Along the way, we\u2019ll encounter various species of fish such as <strong>large brown groupers, dentex, brown meagres, and moray eels<\/strong> emerging from their dens beneath the rocks.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2287\" data-end=\"2513\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2289\" data-end=\"2513\">As the plateau ends, a wall begins. We\u2019ll follow its shape up to <strong>-6 m<\/strong>, where a <strong>cave<\/strong> opens and a freshwater spring flows out.
