This site is <strong>renowned for its vivid vertical wall<\/strong>, home to a spectacular variety of marine life and colourful coral formations, making it an ideal spot for both recreational and advanced divers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"564\" data-end=\"1090\">The dive begins along a series of vibrant boulders and leads into a wall richly adorned with <strong data-start=\"657\" data-end=\"670\">red coral<\/strong> (<em data-start=\"672\" data-end=\"690\">Corallium rubrum<\/em>), <strong data-start=\"693\" data-end=\"714\">yellow gorgonians<\/strong> (<em data-start=\"716\" data-end=\"737\">Eunicella cavolinii<\/em>), and clusters of <strong data-start=\"756\" data-end=\"771\">sea daisies<\/strong> (<em data-start=\"773\" data-end=\"797\">Parazoanthus axinellae<\/em>). Groupers, moray eels, forkbeards, and lobsters are frequent sightings, while out in the blue, <strong>you might spot barracuda and hunting dentex<\/strong> passing by. With routes that reach depths of up to 40 metres, Plate Peak offers <strong>a visually striking and highly rewarding experience<\/strong> beneath the surface.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"452\" data-end=\"484\">\ud83d\udd34 <strong data-start=\"455\" data-end=\"484\">RED ROUTE (down to -40 m)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul data-start=\"486\" data-end=\"1982\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"486\" data-end=\"699\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"488\" data-end=\"699\">After completing our pre-dive check, we\u2019ll descend along the chain to around <strong>-16 m<\/strong>, then begin finning eastwards, where we\u2019ll encounter a large boulder covered in <strong data-start=\"651\" data-end=\"672\">yellow gorgonians<\/strong> (<em data-start=\"674\" data-end=\"695\">Eunicella cavolinii<\/em>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"700\" data-end=\"894\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"894\">Continuing our descent towards the south-east, down to <strong>-35 m<\/strong>, we\u2019ll pass several other life-covered rocks\u2014perfect hiding places for <strong>conger eels, moray eels, and even small-spotted catsharks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"895\" data-end=\"1137\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"897\" data-end=\"1137\">We\u2019ll then ascend gradually, following the rocky seabed in a north-west direction, until we reach the wall. Keeping it on our right at a depth of<strong> -20 m<\/strong>, we\u2019ll encounter <strong data-start=\"1066\" data-end=\"1090\">large brown groupers<\/strong> that often allow divers to approach closely.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1138\" data-end=\"1285\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1140\" data-end=\"1285\">With our torches, we\u2019ll illuminate every crack and crevice, where <strong>lobsters, moray eels, forkbeards<\/strong>, and other marine creatures make their home.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1286\" data-end=\"1442\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1288\" data-end=\"1442\">The wall is beautifully decorated with branches of <strong data-start=\"1339\" data-end=\"1352\">red coral<\/strong> (<em data-start=\"1354\" data-end=\"1372\">Corallium rubrum<\/em>) and clusters of <strong data-start=\"1390\" data-end=\"1412\">yellow sea daisies<\/strong> (<em data-start=\"1414\" data-end=\"1438\">Parazoanthus axinellae<\/em>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1443\" data-end=\"1589\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1445\" data-end=\"1589\">Glancing out toward the open sea, we may spot <strong data-start=\"1491\" data-end=\"1509\">hunting dentex<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1514\" data-end=\"1538\">schools of barracuda<\/strong> drifting in, only to vanish again into the blue.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1590\" data-end=\"1720\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1592\" data-end=\"1720\">Once we reach the end of the wall, we\u2019ll begin our return keeping the wall on our left and ascending further to around <strong>-10 m<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1721\" data-end=\"1982\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1723\" data-end=\"1982\">Near the chain, depending on our remaining air, we can either ascend after our <strong>3-minute safety stop at -5 m<\/strong> or continue following the contour of the promontory towards Punta Chiappa Bay at a depth of -5\/6 m for a few more minutes before returning to the boat.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"1984\" data-end=\"2018\">\ud83d\udfe2 <strong data-start=\"1987\" data-end=\"2018\">GREEN ROUTE (down to -18 m)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul data-start=\"2020\" data-end=\"3268\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2020\" data-end=\"2233\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2022\" data-end=\"2233\">After completing our pre-dive check, we\u2019ll descend along the chain to around <strong>-16 m<\/strong> and begin finning eastwards, where we\u2019ll come across a large boulder covered in <strong data-start=\"2185\" data-end=\"2206\">yellow gorgonians<\/strong> (<em data-start=\"2208\" data-end=\"2229\">Eunicella cavolinii<\/em>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2234\" data-end=\"2457\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2236\" data-end=\"2457\">At this depth, we\u2019ll often see <strong data-start=\"2267\" data-end=\"2285\">brown groupers<\/strong> entering and exiting their dens among the rocks, including juveniles displaying vibrant green and yellow tones and a more curious attitude than their adult counterparts.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2458\" data-end=\"2643\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2460\" data-end=\"2643\">From here, we\u2019ll reach the wall on our left at a <strong>maximum depth of -18 m<\/strong>.
