DEEPEN YOUR TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE<\/h2>\n

This course prepares divers to expand the knowledge gained with Technical 2. Students will continue to refine their skills with multiple decompression tanks and related failures. They will have the opportunity to use stage bottles.<\/p>\n

Course Duration<\/strong>:<\/h2>\n

  • 4\/5 days<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What You Will Learn<\/strong>:<\/h2>\n
      \n
    • You will refine the skills you learned in Technical 2.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The program covers the use of multiple decompression and stage bottles (three or more decompression and\/or stage bottles) for diving between -60 and -75 meters with Trimix up to 12\/60.<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Decompression is calculated using Ratio Deco.<\/li>\n
      • The addition of a bottom gas bottle (Stage) greatly enhances gas reserve safety and dive planning flexibility.<\/li>\n
      • Stage bottles can be added to certification by completing the \u201cStage Bottle\u201d extension.<\/li>\n
      • Adding multiple bottles increases the workload and it is essential to learn how to handle them properly.<\/li>\n
      • Students will gain experience working with different mixtures of bottom and decompression gases.<\/li>\n
      • After completing these procedures, you will have a comprehensive understanding of how to choose the best gas for depths between -3 and -75 meters.<\/li>\n
      • The final certification involves using three decompression bottles, and with the \u201cStage\u201d extension, one stage bottle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Course Format<\/strong>:<\/h2>\n
          \n
        • \n

          At least 6 hours of theory<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Minimum 6 dives, 4 with critical skills and 2 for Trimix experience, using multiple decompression bottles.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          The last two dives will be conducted at a maximum depth of -75 meters, using standard decompression mixes: 35\/25, Nitrox 50, and 100% oxygen.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          The student-to-instructor ratio must not exceed 4:1 during water sessions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Water exercises will be video-recorded for later review during the debriefing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Wreck or cave dives are excluded.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          The instructor may reduce the number of students based on environmental conditions. Smoking is prohibited during UTD courses.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          What to Expect<\/strong>:<\/h2>\n

          Managing two decompression bottles:<\/p>\n

            \n
          • \n

            Increased physical workload<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Increased complexity of team protocols, gas changes, and emergency procedures<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            The \u201cbonus\u201d is the ability to safely explore deep environments, far beyond recreational diving limits.<\/p>\n

            Requirements<\/strong>:<\/h2>\n
              \n
            • \n

              Minimum age 21<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              UTD Technical 2 certification or equivalent (with assessment)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              UTD Rescue and Emergency Procedures certification or equivalent<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              At least 250 logged dives, with at least 100 using dual tanks, 25 using a single stage\/deco bottle, and 25 dives beyond -30 meters (using Helitrox).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              At least 25 personal training dives.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Swim at least 375 meters in under 14 minutes or at least 730 meters in 18 minutes with mask and fins.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Swim 15 meters apnea or demonstrate the ability to cover at least 15 meters during air-sharing to reach a donor.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Ability to transport a fully equipped dive buddy to the surface for at least 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Demonstrate the rescue of a buddy simulating oxygen toxicity.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Complete the online lessons for Technical 3.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  All the equipment needed for the Tech 2 course<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                • \n

                  Three S40 tanks (aluminum 5.7 liters) with appropriate harnesses and dedicated regulators<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                • \n

                  For the \u201cStage Bottle\u201d extension: one S80 tank (aluminum, 11.1 liters) with appropriate harness and dedicated regulator<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                • \n

                  One reel with 60 meters of line per team<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Note<\/strong>:
                  Before starting the course, participants must ensure they have the appropriate equipment. To avoid mistakes, it is advisable to contact a UTD representative before making any purchases or rentals.<\/p>\n
