COMPETITION CATEGORIES<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"242\" data-end=\"317\">Participants may compete in two categories:<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"319\" data-end=\"455\"><strong data-start=\"319\" data-end=\"384\">Category 1 \u2013 \u201cPortofino Blue: The Magic of the Protected Sea\u201d<\/strong> \u2013 focused on the aesthetic and natural value of the marine heritage.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"456\" data-end=\"666\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"456\" data-end=\"544\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"458\" data-end=\"544\">Photos that enhance the beauty of the seabed in the Portofino Marine Protected Area.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"545\" data-end=\"666\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"547\" data-end=\"666\">The shots should highlight the biodiversity, light, colours, and extraordinary marine life of the Portofino Promontory.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"668\" data-end=\"782\"><strong data-start=\"668\" data-end=\"723\">Category 2 \u2013 \u201cSOS Sea: Warning Signs from the Deep\u201d<\/strong> \u2013 focused on the human impact on the marine environment.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"783\" data-end=\"994\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"783\" data-end=\"925\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"785\" data-end=\"925\">Photos that document the human impact on the marine environment, including pollution, coral damage, lost fishing gear, and climate change.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"926\" data-end=\"994\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"928\" data-end=\"994\">The goal is to raise awareness of the threats endangering the sea.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"996\" data-end=\"1159\">Participants may enter one or both categories. Each category will be divided into two groups: Compact\/Action Cam and DSLR\/Mirrorless (with interchangeable lenses).<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1161\" data-end=\"1804\"><strong data-start=\"1161\" data-end=\"1194\">2. PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1161\" data-end=\"1804\">The contest is open to photographers of any nationality and skill level, from amateurs to professionals.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1161\" data-end=\"1804\">A valid scuba diving certification is required. Registration is free.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1161\" data-end=\"1804\">The contest takes place in an &#8220;on location&#8221; format from 01 May 2025 to 30 September 2025.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1161\" data-end=\"1804\">Photos must be taken within the Portofino Marine<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1161\" data-end=\"1804\">Protected Area during the contest period, exclusively while diving with Diving Group Portofino (from the Santa Margherita Ligure or Rapallo base).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1161\" data-end=\"1804\">Photos must be unpublished and taken during the contest. Each contestant may submit a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5 photos per category.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"1806\" data-end=\"2188\"><strong data-start=\"1806\" data-end=\"1835\">3. REGISTRATION PROCEDURE<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1806\" data-end=\"2188\">Registration takes place at the time of the first dive by filling in the form provided at the Diving Centre.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1806\" data-end=\"2188\">Participants must register with the Diving Centre every time they go on a dive intended for the photo contest. This registration ensures all dives are properly tracked and that the photos taken during these dives are valid for the contest.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1806\" data-end=\"2188\"><strong data-start=\"2190\" data-end=\"2215\">Required Information: <\/strong>Participants must provide: full name, certification level, date and time of the dive, dive site (upon return), and signature.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1806\" data-end=\"2188\">There is no limit to the number of dives a participant can carry out during the contest period.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2190\" data-end=\"2548\">By following these guidelines, participants can ensure their entries are valid and eligible for judging.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2550\" data-end=\"2604\"><strong data-start=\"2550\" data-end=\"2602\">5. PHOTO TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND SUBMISSION<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2606\" data-end=\"2761\"><strong data-start=\"2606\" data-end=\"2630\">File format and size:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"2606\" data-end=\"2761\">File format: High-resolution JPEG + original RAW file<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2606\" data-end=\"2761\">Minimum resolution: 3000 px on the long side<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2606\" data-end=\"2761\">Colour space: Adobe RGB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2763\" data-end=\"2835\"><strong data-start=\"2763\" data-end=\"2780\">Editing rules<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2763\" data-end=\"2835\">The following post-processing actions are allowed:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2836\" data-end=\"3483\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2836\" data-end=\"2922\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2838\" data-end=\"2922\">Adjustments to brightness, contrast, colour temperature, sharpness, and saturation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2923\" data-end=\"2970\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2925\" data-end=\"2970\">Maximum 25% crop of the original image area<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2971\" data-end=\"3073\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2973\" data-end=\"3073\">Limited use of the clone stamp tool to remove minor imperfections<br data-start=\"3038\" data-end=\"3041\" \/>The following are not allowed:<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3074\" data-end=\"3129\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3076\" data-end=\"3129\">Photomontages, image overlays, or generative AI use<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3130\" data-end=\"3207\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3132\" data-end=\"3207\">Modifications that alter the original scene (adding or removing elements)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3208\" data-end=\"3266\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3210\" data-end=\"3266\">Use of artificial filters that distort natural colours<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3267\" data-end=\"3483\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3269\" data-end=\"3483\">Images with watermarks, signatures, or logos<br data-start=\"3313\" data-end=\"3316\" \/>Multiple exposures are allowed only if supported by the camera and must produce a single RAW file.<br data-start=\"3414\" data-end=\"3417\" \/>All submitted images must be accompanied by the original RAW file.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 data-start=\"3485\" data-end=\"3639\"><strong data-start=\"3485\" data-end=\"3506\">Submission method<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3485\" data-end=\"3639\">Images must be sent via email (or WeTransfer, Google Drive, etc.) by 30\/09\/2025 to the following address: <a rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"3615\" data-end=\"3639\">concorso@dgportofino.com<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3641\" data-end=\"3825\"><strong data-start=\"3641\" data-end=\"3676\">6. It will take into account technical, naturalistic, artistic, and documentary aspects.<br data-start=\"4512\" data-end=\"4515\" \/>Photos with high naturalistic value but significant technical or artistic flaws may receive low scores. Excessive image alterations or post-processing that compromises the integrity of the shot will be penalised.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"4729\" data-end=\"4827\"><strong data-start=\"4729\" data-end=\"4759\">7. The organisers will inform all winners in advance with full details of the event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5464\" data-end=\"5595\"><strong data-start=\"5464\" data-end=\"5473\">NOTE:<\/strong><br data-start=\"5473\" data-end=\"5476\" \/>Prizes not collected by the winners or their delegates will be shipped by cash on delivery, at the recipient\u2019s expense.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"5597\" data-end=\"5955\"><strong data-start=\"5597\" data-end=\"5630\">8. ETHICS AND CODE OF CONDUCT<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"5597\" data-end=\"5955\">It is strictly forbidden to disturb marine wildlife to capture a shot.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5597\" data-end=\"5955\">Touching, moving, or damaging corals or any other marine life is not allowed.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5597\" data-end=\"5955\">Photos that violate environmental protection regulations will be disqualified.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5597\" data-end=\"5955\">Participants must comply with the Portofino MPA regulations (especially Articles 13\u201314).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"5957\" data-end=\"6215\"><strong data-start=\"5957\" data-end=\"5989\">9. COPYRIGHT AND IMAGE USAGE<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"5957\" data-end=\"6215\">The Organisers, in accordance with current copyright laws, assume that submitted works are free from third-party rights.<br data-start=\"6112\" data-end=\"6115\" \/>Participants declare they are the authors of the submitted images and hold all related usage rights.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"6217\" data-end=\"6682\">Participants authorise the Organisers and the Portofino MPA to use their images to promote the contest or in institutional materials, including posters, brochures, calendars, and digital publications, provided there is no commercial purpose.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"6217\" data-end=\"6682\">Images will always be credited with the author\u2019s name.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"6217\" data-end=\"6682\">The Organisation will not use the images for commercial purposes without the author\u2019s explicit consent.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"6217\" data-end=\"6682\">Any image purchase inquiries will be directed to the author.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"6684\" data-end=\"7465\"><strong data-start=\"6684\" data-end=\"6712\">PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"6684\" data-end=\"7465\">In compliance with EU Regulation 2016\/679 (GDPR), the Organisation guarantees that collected data will be processed lawfully, fairly, and transparently, solely for contest management and communications related to the Organisation\u2019s activities.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"6684\" data-end=\"7465\">Personal data provided by participants will be processed using paper and digital tools, with all necessary security measures in place to ensure confidentiality and protection. DISQUALIFICATIONS AND PENALTIES<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"7759\" data-end=\"7839\">Images will be disqualified if they:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"7840\" data-end=\"8161\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"7840\" data-end=\"7884\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"7842\" data-end=\"7884\">Do not comply with post-production rules<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"7885\" data-end=\"8000\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"7887\" data-end=\"8000\">Were taken outside the indicated timeframe or area, or during dives not carried out with Diving Group Portofino<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"8001\" data-end=\"8068\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"8003\" data-end=\"8068\">Include intentionally manipulated, moved, or disturbed subjects<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"8069\" data-end=\"8123\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"8071\" data-end=\"8123\">Violate the ethical code of underwater photography<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"8124\" data-end=\"8161\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"8126\" data-end=\"8161\">Are not accompanied by the RAW file<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"8163\" data-end=\"8472\"><strong data-start=\"8163\" data-end=\"8191\">11. SAFETY AND LIABILITY<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"8163\" data-end=\"8472\">Each participant is responsible for their own safety during dives.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"8163\" data-end=\"8472\">The Organisation is not responsible for any accidents or damage to people or equipment.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"8163\" data-end=\"8472\">Participants must follow the safety rules of their training agency and the Portofino Marine Protected Area regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"8474\" data-end=\"8576\"><strong data-start=\"8474\" data-end=\"8505\">12.
