Course Structure and Internship

At our diving centres, we offer a comprehensive internship programme designed to give you real hands-on experience. The Divemaster course takes a minimum of 8 weeks, allowing you to become fully integrated into our team and experience the day-to-day operation of a professional dive centre.

During your Divemaster training, you will:

  • Assist instructors during PADI courses, from Open Water Diver to Rescue Diver
  • Lead and supervise guided dive tours with certified divers
  • Conduct scuba refreshers and snorkelling programs
  • Support divers with equipment setup, logistics, and minor maintenance
  • Learn how to manage a dive centre, including customer service and daily operations

You will also develop in-depth theoretical knowledge, covering topics such as:

  • Diving physics and physiology
  • Decompression theory and the Recreational Dive Planner (RDP)
  • Diving equipment and its maintenance
  • Compressor and tank handling and care
  • Environmental awareness and safe diving practices

Skill development will focus on achieving demonstration-quality diving techniques, perfect for assisting and leading others. You will also:

  • Complete a detailed mapping project of a local dive site
  • Pass a series of watermanship and stamina assessments

Prerequisites

To enrol in the PADI Divemaster course, you must:

  • Be 18 years old or older
  • Have a minimum of 20 logged dives (40 required for certification)
  • Hold a PADI Rescue Diver certification (or an equivalent from another recognised agency)
  • Have completed Emergency First Response (EFR) training within the last 24 months (or equivalent)
  • Possess a medical certificate signed by a physician within the past 12 months, stating you are fit to dive
