The site owes its name to a rock formation located on the surface that vaguely resembles an altar.
It is a very beautiful dive characterized by a unique underwater environment with its 3 pinnacles and a wall rich in coral that drops sheer down to -40 meters.
Lots of fish, large brown groupers, snappers, corvine, bream, barracuda, etc …
RED PATH TO PINNACLES (up to -40 meters)
After the pre-dive check we will be ready to go down to the bay and start our dive. Arrived at the dead body of the buoy at -16 meters with the wall on the right and we will begin to fin at a constant depth of -18 meters. up to the point where the 3 pinnacles will rise one after the other on our left. Between the second and third pinnacle we will literally fall along the beautiful wall rich in coral. After inspecting the multitude of ravines in search of lobsters, we will go up to -20 meters where, continuing in the WEST direction, we will cross a coarse cobblestone gully, which will lead us to a landslide. At -18 meters we will meet a gigantic boulder characterized by a vault covered with yellow coral (leptosammia pruvoti). Following the promontory wall to our left at a depth of -14 meters we will begin the path to return to the bay where the boat is moored. During the return to our right we will see the 3 pinnacles we met previously from above. We will cross another small canyon formed by a large rock and the wall. At -12 meters entering the bay, we will immediately turn left to pass between 2 rocks and then immediately right until we reach a large rock formation with a central saddle at -8 meters deep. We will end our dive after having spent the last minutes among the rocks at -3/4 meters of depth where the light creates suggestive reflections in the clear and crystalline water.
RED PATH VARIANT (up to -40 m)
After the pre-dive check we will be ready to go down to the bay and start our dive. Arriving at the dead body of the buoy at -16 meters we will position ourselves on the right wall towards SOUTH-WEST going down to -30 meters. We will follow the progress of the landslide until we reach the beautiful wall rich in coral and ravines inhabited by numerous lobsters. With the wall on the right we will slowly climb up to -20 meters and continuing towards the WEST we will cross a coarse cobblestone gully that will lead us to a landslide. At -18 meters we will meet a gigantic boulder characterized by a vault covered with yellow coral (leptopsammia pruvoti). Following the promontory wall to our left at a depth of -14 meters we will begin the path to return to the bay where the boat is moored. GREEN PATH (up to -18 mt)
After the pre-dive check we will be ready to go down to the bay and start our dive. Arriving at the dead body of the buoy at -16 meters we will position ourselves on the right wall, finning at a constant depth of -18 meters. After a few minutes we will see the pinnacles appear in front of us which we will reach after crossing a small canyon. Looking up, you will likely spot a nice school of barracudas. Continuing in the WEST direction we will cross a coarse cobblestone gully that will lead us to a landslide. At -18 meters we will meet a gigantic boulder characterized by a vault covered with yellow coral (leptopsammia pruvoti).
